We build and maintain the roads, ports, airports, bridges, parks and property developments which make up connected, functioning towns and cities in Iraq.
We construct and maintain the vast networks of pipes and drains below ground which supply potable water, energy and fuel and manage waste, keeping communities healthy and livable.
We’ve been making our mark for more than 20 years officially established in 2003. While times and technology have changed, what will never change is the way we work.
Our management set out to create a business based on honesty, trust, respect, safety and teamwork. It worked for them and still works for us today. ABA has earned a reputation for always doing what we say.

Who we are
Building communities for 15 years
ABA has more than 15 years’ experience in the transport, water, energy and land development infrastructure sector in Iraq.
We create communities from the ground up, starting with our own network of quarries, complemented by our asphalt, emulsion and precast plants.
The names you see on our trucks, our hard hats and our high-vis vests are more than just a brand. They are the names of our founders, Waleed Zebari, who teamed up as partners in 2003 to start a contracting business and create a future for their families. Those families, together with employees, still hold a major stake in our public, non-listed company.
We pride ourselves on being a family company – one that cares about communities and the people in them, especially our customers, suppliers and our 500+ people. Safety always comes first. We challenge and train our people to look after themselves and their teammates.
Our head office is in Baghdad & Erbil – where we are helping rebuild the city – and our heart is in every job we deliver with skill, pride and a genuine commitment to safety and quality.

ABA is known for our independence. We are proud of our private ownership, which gives us the flexibility to work with any partner. Our collaborative approach and a real desire to get things done helps our customers and partners deliver the results they want each time.
We offer clients a vertically integrated business structure. It’s rare to find one company with its own asphalt plants and quarries supplying direct to its own civil projects, or its precast plants delivering direct to its construction projects providing the continuity to help bring in projects on time and in budget.
We’re the team people want on their side. Our innovative approach to collaborating has been recognized. We have a very strong Iraq’s footprint with offices and facilities spanning the length of Iraq the breadth of Iraq.
